League Cup

Postby Nae Lead... » Thu Aug 27, 2009 1:24 pm

I've been thinking about the next two games we have coming up in the League Cup, and the effect that the 'missed week' could have. At the moment, it is starting to get dark around 8.30 pm. On Friday against Vicky Park we will probably have it dark for a couple of ends, if you miss out on a trial end. Come a week on Friday against Singer's, 15 ends starting at 6.30pm will mean possibly 3-4 ends played in darkness. With the chance we have given ourselves to qualify for the league cup final, does anyone have any suggestions as to how we could make sure we can see what we are doing.
My suggestions would be to start at 6pm. I know this may not suit all, but can we see who would be available for this time and at least try this.
Another suggestion would be to play on the Saturday afternoon for the Singer game, but not having the fixture list I don't know if this is available.

Any thoughts?

Another topic for discussion - Do we go for one at the first, straight in or 1 trial end. I would go for straight in, but would depend on what opponents would say.

When I was just starting out in short troosers I think the league was staggered 6.15, 6.30, 6.45 over the 9 games. Think 6.30pm is a tad late for the league cup.....dark tonight at 8pm!!Think it is time the CDBA did the thinking and not the clubs!!

Thanks for putting me right Ban Ki-Moon. I don't know what the forum would do without you. Perhaps you would like to organise a 6pm start with our team and opponents as you obviously have a superior knowledge to everyone on here, and your man management skills are finely honed. Why don't you make yourself known so that I can thank you personally for your valuable input?

Floodlights? Obviously a long time since you have played at Clydebank.
