Clydebank Indoor BC

Postby The E Biscuit » Sat Nov 06, 2010 7:30 pm

Hearing reports that WDC have no plans to incorporate an Indoor Area in the new sports centre when built at the Titan Crane / College!! I know a lot of the players at CBC play out Whiteinch but if you could show your support to the Clydebank Indoor it would be appreciated. Clydebank cannot afford to lose another community based sporting venue.....whether its used for competitive bowling or recreational bowling the council are a disgrace.

The venue is obviously different from private clubs like Whiteinch or Dumbarton, but similar to The Allander.....I don't play indoor but to take away such an Amenity without regard is simply disrespectful!!

If it goes, it will never return.....Clydebank FC, in the 90's.....Clydebank Indoor in the 10's......everyone watch their backs!! :?

As a member of Whiteinch Indoor Bowling Club, I fully agree with your comments E Biscuit, those in power at WDC are treating those who have supported the Indoor at Clydebank for many years (i.e The Members, staff etc, etc,.) as second class citizens, this should not be allowed, & I fully understand the financial climate we are all in at the moment, but to use the excuse that the new site is not big enough to include a bowling arena, I'm afraid does not "wash" with me, and all bowlers in and around our area (outdoor & Indoor) should support the fight to keep Clydebank Indoor Bowling club as a going concern, and WDC should look at including an indoor arena within their new complex...respect to the present membership should be first when the decisions like this are made---------
