I believe the lge is now down to 6 rinks per club, 3 home and 3 away although all clubs will play each other twice extending the league to 18 weeks instead of 9. All games will be played over 15 ends due to daylight issues. There will still be a break in July for the T10 but the league cup has been changed to a 6 rink Sunday knockout competition. There is also some change regarding the seniors but I'd stopped listening by then, I think Baldy had a personal interest in that one as he's nearly there

this was a great chance for the league to at least get some real rivalry by having six rinks on the same green to watch the whole game and result develop together to give the full climax of a team together. the only arguement i have heard is that the single clubs need space for ties to be played therefore they will keep rinks spare for the other members in this day is bunkum. they have all bloody week to play the ties ,the friday night should be for the league and lets get some excitement in the game. any player worth their salt will tell you top ten games are a great hit because you can see it all happening so the format is a hugh letdown for me. the farcical thing is that they are going to use the six rink system on sundays for the league cup.

there would be more atmosphere if all 6 rinks were at the same club. in my opinion you raise your game with a better atmosphere, maybe make the game more enjoyable. only downside would be behind the bar :/

I can see where both arguments are coming from ,but compromise is is the name of the game.I am sure other clubs had other ideas but were voted down

It wasn't ties that blocked 6 games on 1 green it was availability of rinks for non league playing members as per some clubs constitution, big difference between 2 players playing singles and 8 guys who are now surplus to their lge team. However I do believe that a 5 rink lge playing all games on the same green would have been a better option. This way we could still have had a 2nd 3 rink lge playing for the lge cup, pleasing the clubs with sufficient members. I also still have my doubts about clubs fielding 24 players when they are near the bottom and the weathers lousy. If we're still playing home and away on the same night why didn't we keep the same syllabus I can't understand why we have dropped 2 fri charity games plus 5 fri lge cup dates to play another 9 lge games. This looks like change for the sake of change. However this is the new format and its up to us to keep the momentum going from last year and become the 1st winners

Can I add that the comments I made are my own opinion only. As a club we have had members attend a think tank for the last year to come up with a solution. I am sure many different scenarios were discussed before this new format was agreed. As it was a CDBA proposal then it is only right that we support it.

tn I'd be happy with a five rink game as long we are all on the rink and like other sports we should be able to use home advantage by selecting the best players for the most suitable rinks instead of picking cards to negate the home advantage. as I'VE said before lets make this a real league where everything has to come into the picture for the challenge to become the victors.
