I'll start this off...

1. Jim Russell - Great singles player and great team player also. Still one of the best in the club. The Greg Norman of Bowls.
2. Gordon Laird - When you want a real good 3rd, look no further. Great guy who has that wee bit of needle in him to get under the skin of your opposition when required.
3. Willie McDonald - The Magician of Singles of yester-year. Not really a team player but up until very late 90's a Machine.

Okay... my contribution...

1= Jim McGinley - he didn't earn over 100 County cups for nothing... not so long ago, the best skip in the club by a mile and a cracking singles player too... took him a few years to win the Championship which he then managed twice but don't forget he's also won the presidents about six times...

1= Jim Russell - as per previous post... consistently one of the best players in the club over the years and still a cracking booler... even though he's getting on a bit... (hope he logs on and reads this!!!) :) ... taught me a thing or two it's fair to say...

3. Willie McDonald - undoubtedly, in his day the best singles player CBC has produced...

Left out a right few names such as Billy Adams, Robert Forey (in his limited time in the club), Addie Fisher and Raymond Barr to name but a few... difficult choice... :!:

I have top 3 from my time in the club.
1-Jim Russell, Champion in our centenary year and no one would be surprised if he made it 4 in our 125. 3 times at Northfield, closest we have to a bowls pro.
2-Billy Adams, Only member to have won every outdoor knockout competition in the club. I was delighted to see him finally reach Northfield 2 years ago
3-Grant Russell, Gave me my 1st real lesson on bowls tactics when i moved up from the juniors, 2 weeks after i watched him play at Queens Park. Never looked back from the moment his big brother let him skip the pairs.

I've been in and around Clydebank B.C. for the last twenty odd years.
Best current player in my opinion is Grant Rusell.
Best players from years gone by, I would say Willie McDonald and Robert Forey.

In my short period of time in the club i would have to say that my 3 top players in the club are :
1= Scott Paton. not won the championship 4 times for nothing
2= Grant Russell. marked his tie against scott and was amzing the quality of bowls each player showed. think he takes after the father.
3= Billy Adams, one of the best boolers in the club and also made it to northfield.
